Great hosts, great content!

I found this podcast because I’m a follower of Rhani’s on TikTok, and I love it! I’ve never read the books but now I get to pretend I have heehee 💗 Very entertaining but also comforting enough to listen to while sleeping!

10/10 no notes

I came because I wanted a collegiate lecture on all things Game of Thrones. I stayed to listen to two grown men harass each other with making musical theatre references.

My comfort podcast

Not to be dramatic, but this podcast got me through 2025, which was a bad year for several national and global reasons, but also my cat got really sick and died. Rhani and Spicer’s goofball queer joy gets me out of my head better than just about anything else. I also truly adore them for going so hard on feminist and queer readings of these books, and damn it’s nice to hear two besties appreciating the hell out of GRRM’s story craft. Is it a perfect podcast? No, but also yes it really is.

Completely Obsessed

I left the GoT fandom over 10 years ago, but have recently let it back into my dark winter heart. And these 2 adorable sassy theatre spawn, are such a nice addition to the over serious, indulgent content that can take over the GoT space. They balance each other well, and live in a sweet spot with their fun, intelligent analysis of the text. Mermaids lives Matter.

+5 for intersectionality, -1 for sound

Rhani’s ASOIAF content on TikTok made me curious about this Podcast. Just made it through all of the GOT episodes. I have especially enjoyed the intersectional approach to character analysis. It has deepened my appreciation of the text to get a richer understanding of the characters and their motivations. The podcast could be improved by being mindful of the listener experience. When the volume or pitch changes suddenly, it is a jarring experience for the listener. As the hosts have themselves expressed - medium matters - and for a podcast, the soundscape is paramount. Anyhow, I am inspired to re-read the texts (again). Thanks.
