Excellent
I recently entered the field of historic preservation/ cultural resource management in California. While Im a trained historian, when I was hired I had almost NO idea which way was up when it came to architecture. This podcast not only helped me get up to speed, but has been a real treat along the way! My inner architectural history nerd has been unlocked, much to the chagrin of my dear wife who now has to (gets to) hear about cool old buildings all the time. Keep it up boys!
The Best
Not only the best podcast on architecture by far, but arguably the best podcast period. A truly impressive accomplishment. Please keep up the good work gentlemen.
A Real Pleasure
Just a great podcast, even when I find myself disagreeing I still enjoy the dialogue and nuance. The hosts are thoughtful and careful and clearly enjoy the discussion as well. The show does require a little foreknowledge but not a ton.
Great Podcast, Not Beginner Friendly
I really tried to get into this podcast, but I just don’t believe it’s a good gateway for those who know little about architecture who want to learn more. Jones and Gingell are clearly quite knowledgeable about architecture and it shines through their command of jargon and diving into what influenced the architects they’re covering. However, with side quest rambles and not properly clarifying jargon, the podcast becomes less of an enjoyable listen and more of a frustrating session of pausing and searching up terms and blueprints on Google. This podcast could just not be made for me in mind, which is fine, as architect and interior design students would love this podcast, but it does leave some room to be desired.
Terrific listening
Love listening to the two hosts. Not pretentious, insightful, informative and entertaining. Good pacing of the episodes and overall an excellent podcast show about architects and cool buildings.
