Best Prescription for your Nervous System
So my BFF was reading her book and I’ll be honest, what drew me to her book initially were the fantastic graphics. But then as I kept reading the book, it felt like she was writing the book to me and about me. I have never been officially diagnosed with ADHD, but much of what she says is necessary for pretty much everyone. She is so easy to listen to and relatable.
The absolute best
I am so glad I found you, Jenna Free! Since becoming aware of regulation tactics my life has improved dramatically. I love your approach and I find your voice very regulating😃. I’m so glad you are sharing your wisdom! Thank you Jenna!
not very practical
I started at the start of the show, hoping "maybe this will change my life." What I learned was that you *can* change your life by regulating your nervous system... but not *how* to do it. First episode is a helpful primer on why regulation is important, but after that it felt like the only way you could get real help was by joining the paid program. I pretty much lost interest after one episode where she effectively said, "If you're frustrating that I'm not giving you more practical advice, it's because you're disregulated." Well, yes... that's what I'm here for. At some point we do need to move past theory and into practice. FWIW, real treatment from an actual professional was what ended up being helpful for me.
The ADHD bestie we all need
Since getting diagnosed as AuDHD, I've looked into so many different resources for help and Jenna's podcast has been the most helpful and welcoming by far. She speaks with a level of compassion and understanding that makes it perfectly clear how well she knows the burden of living with ADHD and offers practical advice on how to change the way we address the challenges we face with it. I'm normally not a podcast listener at all, and I still look forward to each new episode with enthusiasm. She's a wonderful advocate for folks with ADHD
ADHD Godsend !! So this is what’s going on! Light bulb moment!
When I stumbled upon this podcast, I felt like Jenna was speaking directly to me. All of the struggles that have crippled my life were explained in real life examples and easy to digest terms. It has given me the steps I needed to help stop the ADHD paralysis and stop me from beating myself up about things that are just naturally occurring. The term dysregulation and Jenna’s explanation were the keys for me. Thank you thank you thank you.
