I’ve been listening for MANY years. I’ve been criticizing the use of the AI voice since the beginning. Every now and then I’ll think “oh my gosh maybe he doesn’t use it anymore!” and get happy about it. Then I’ll hear a mistake that’s obviously from a written typo that a human reader would’ve corrected in the moment and I just deflate again. It’s not about “stealing labor.” You’re profiting off things you’re not doing and using an AI version of your voice and not making that clear in every episode and it is VERY shady. Hire a human. If you can’t do that, cancel the show. And the fact that you said “my family will suffer” as a kind of guilt trip is gross. as if your listeners OWE you something. That’s even shadier. You chose to make this your income, you chose to rely on it, and then you chose to use AI and continue profiting off of doing virtually nothing. Welcome to the consequences of your own actions.
