Rich and nuanced

Fantastic job of describing Anglo-Saxon history. This podcast is incredibly interesting and also does a great job of weighing sources and discussing of which information is well-grounded versus what is conjecture or not known at all.

Great detail

The host does a lot of research & presents it in a very professional & well-laid out way. Great job!

Great content and the podcast here and there are just the right length. I initially found the podcast on YouTube.

Thorough and well-balanced

At about 1/4 of the way through the podcast to date, what stands out is the thoroughness and the effort to be “scholarly rigorous” without descending into just a list of names and dates. There are enormous gaps in the historical record of the Anglo-Saxon period, and this podcasts does a very good job of sticking to the facts and a reasonable interpretation of the facts while avoiding the temptation to fill in the gaps with speculation.

Too many randomly placed ads

Great history, however, ads break up the flow so often I have given up listening to this podcast. Plus, they are much louder than the podcast itself. Don’t wear EarPods! I give 5 stars for the content, subtract 3 stars for the ads.
