Dedicated Listener for Over Ten Years

I’m a full-time real estate investor who started listening to this podcast over a decade ago. Back then, I had just a couple of rentals as a side hustle. Today, I’ve built a diversified portfolio that includes single-family homes, multifamily properties (12–49 units), commercial assets, mobile home investments, and even land. Real estate has since become our primary source of income. The combination of cash flow and tax advantages has been powerful—so much so that we’re often in a position to receive money back at tax time, which has allowed us to increase our charitable giving. What I appreciate most about the BiggerPockets podcast is its focus on fundamentals. The concepts are accessible, practical, and applicable to investors at any stage. My advice: start by listening, take action on what you learn, begin small, and let time and compounding do the heavy lifting!

Enjoyable Podcast, periodic “calculator” episodes misleading

Chickenfoolish4/4/2026

The hosts tend to talk about the “1% rule” fairly often and have indicated on multiple occasions that this is unrealistic in today market and the “0.8% rule” is more realistic in today’s market; which I have realized about my market also. However in this latest calculator episodes it’s said to go buy a $400k triplex that provides $4,500 in monthly rent, so $4.5k/$400k =1.13% which is quite a bit over the typical 0.8% and seems pretty unrealistic in today’s market without material defects in the real estate or being in a lower class neighborhood (ie lower appreciation).

No more stories on people who inherit money please

This is my favorite podcast but this latest one on the guy who scaled his portfolio because he got money from a relative who passed, ya that is not applicable to the majority of the listeners and was a total waste of my time.

Waaaay too many ads and not enough new substance

Bagvj3/24/2026

I’ve been a long-time listener, but the signal-to-noise ratio has become impossible to ignore. Between the pre-rolls, multiple mid-rolls, and constant self-promotion for Pro memberships and bootcamps, it feels like nearly 20% of every episode is just a sales pitch. Beyond the ad load, the actual content has started to feel repetitive. It’s the same "financial freedom" formulas on loop without much fresh perspective or deep-dive substance into today's shifting market. It feels more like a marketing funnel than a high-level real estate resource these days.

No longer helpful

The show is full of ads on ads. It used to be the most helpful podcast but went downhill. Tons of hype up and little useful content any more.
