Woke Trash

Season 1 was interesting. Season 2 was a woke dumpster fire.

Over all Okay but left too many questions unanswered .

Overall it was a good listen, but they left way too many unanswered questions ….and then they never made a season three to wrap everything together. As of December 2025 they have yet to make more episodes and since season 1 and 2 were four years ago I don’t see them finishing, and completing the show. Very disappointing…….

Immersive

Blackout is a very immersive podcast. Season 1 vs 2 didn’t flow very well together. I found myself losing track of the characters. The actors were good, just to much skipping around with not enough prologue. With that said, I enjoyed the listen, but to many questions left in the end.

Season 1 > Season 2

The first season of Blackout is excellent; gripping, eerie, stressful, and convincing. The characters are well conceived (a few overdone New England accents aside) and the story moves at a slow burn pace that amplifies the tension, mystery, and dread nicely. While Season 2 gets off on the right foot initially, it goes off the rails by the midpoint with the introduction of less compelling characters, a story that’s literally all over the map, and schmaltzy moments that feel like they were shoehorned in from a dumber show. I did notice that the show writers and directors changed between seasons and I do wonder if that’s part of the problem. Still, the first season of Blackout is top notch audio thriller material and I would recommend listening to it as a standalone work. Oh, and ignore all the nimrods who are complaining about the show being “woke.”

Woke season 2

I really liked season one when it first came out. I forgot about the show until now. Related to season one and it was still great. Started season two and within 20 minutes I can tell they went woke and ruined it. You can tell this was at the peak of blm and my has it aged poorly.
