Blood Trails is a new investigative podcast from MeatEater, hosted by writer and journalist Jordan Sillars. Each episode digs into true crime stories from the world of hunting and fishing—cases where the woods and the water became the backdrop for violence and mystery. From missing hunters deep in public land to poachers turned killers and fishing trips gone fatally wrong, Blood Trails uncovers the moments when outdoor life collides with the darkness of the human heart. But this isn't repackaged...

You’re sad you broke a duly passed law??

MV IV•9/9/2026

Why is the network spending so much time grandstanding about privileged travelers facing consequences in another country? Despite your personal thoughts on how minor the violation or inflated the consequences may be of a given law, the fact is we live in a society where we’re all expected to face the consequences of our actions. Well, that’s what it should be. I suppose the fact that these families affected by the ammunition ban likely voted in support of a gentlemen who acts like he’s above the law (and has been allowed to live as such) is telling enough. Do you all get equally upset about foreigners visiting the U.S. and facing consequences for breaking our laws? Does it change your opinion if that foreigner strongly believed the consequences we impose in the U.S. are sometimes draconian and seemingly unjustified? Probably not. This was a ridiculous idea for a second season that is tantamount to advocating for the outright immunity of Americans in foreign nations. Bring back actual blood trials with actual victims. Not perpetrators.

Fantastic mini series, had my blood boiling, made me laugh and cry. I heard about this when it was happening but it was so great getting to hear the whole story. Great job man!

The sound effects are torture!!!

Chefchik8•9/3/2026

The sound effects are so loud, constant, and distracting starting at 8 min into ep. 1 and never relenting. I don’t know how anyone can listen to this. It’s awful!!!

Quality Production + Respect for the Victims

SNEAKERKING510•8/13/2026

Quality true crime podcast that should interest anyone who is a listener of the genre and is an outdoorsman. What truly separates this podcast from the rest of the genre, is not just the fact that each case revolves around outdoor interests, isn’t the fact that the research and production quality is A+, but rather the amount of respect and humanity the podcast gives to the victims. I’m not a true crime nut, but I would recommend this to anyone.
