5 to 3 lately

Calm down with sex assault on kids. This has been like every other episode lately. I do not enjoy those cases at all. Let’s refocus on good old fashioned murders that are tricky to solve. This is getting too gross and morbid for me.

Casefile is unparalleled

Narrator has evolved, and stories/events are true to actual events. I have quite a lot of gripe with being a subscriber for nearly a decade while receiving little. The archives, behind the files and repeats aren’t interesting. We’ve listened. tysm. However still, there is much of merit due to the narrator being incredibly respectful to every person in the case discussed. This is something lacking from other “true crime” podcasts. You’re doing great, but do better ♥️

A once-great podcast has really hit the skids :’-(

The first few years of this podcast are fantastic, with a real Australian human as narrator. BUT, after sampling some of the newer episodes, it appears sometime in 2019 the previous narrator fed his voice into a computer and now the narration is by an AI bot that sounds like a robot version of him. And, the stories became much less compelling. As a result, the podcast turned into a pile of hot garbage. I’ll be listening to all the old episodes up until the bot takes over. What a sad state of affairs.

Reconsidering this podcast

This used to be my go to podcastbut for the last year or so there are longer breaks and fewer new episodes (I do appreciate the heads up on the breaks). So many of the episodes are Casefile Archives or Behind the Files & Q&A, neither of which interests me. The subscription fee isn’t unreasonable, but I’d like more actual new content for it rather than what feels like filler.

Multi parters are great. The content this year has been excellent, some better than docs I’ve watched on the subjects. Breaks are fine! Some of my regular podcasts will stop unannounced for months. With Casefile we have a heads up, revamped episodes, an extensive library, and a timeline. And a truly quality show. Keep it up!!
