Disappointed
This show was great when it was focused on Heroes of the Storm…maybe that’s because it was a focused thing, so when you started listening, you knew what you were getting into. You came into listen about one thing, and they were going to talk about one thing. For quite a few years now they have been covering video games as a whole. That’s a broad topic, but the hosts tend to have narrow views and strongly oppose differing ones. The hosts also have the unfortunate tendency to slide in political remarks, though fortunately this is not as prevalent as on other podcasts on the network. I’ve found that this leads to a show, and community, that is rather insular. That being said, the chemistry of the hosts is solid, so I can understand the appeal for those whose viewpoints line up with those of the hosts’. I wish Scott, Jon, and Beau well, but I just think the show, currently, falls short of their potential.
Beau repeats himself and gets on his high horse
Edit 2: Whoever __Tile__ is he sounds like a troll. I wonder if it’s Beau himself, or one of his followers. Maybe this guy should just go watch Beau’s streams if he wants more uninformed, high horse, boomer opinions about games. eEdit: in the most recent podcast Beau whose boomer hands can’t seem to get timing right with slow fingers said about Clair Obscur, “they didn’t think about their game.” This guy rails against corporate AAA games but when it comes to indies he sounds like AAA lover. Seriously, the show would be so much better without him. He’s a dude who acts like a know it all, and it’s lame. ——- Long time listener, but when Beau gets on a subject he repeats himself and interrupts the other hosts. It’s annoying. Just make the point and move on or let the hosts respond. Adding: I had to bounce off this. Podcast. I love Jon and Scott, but Beau brings this podcast down. He goes on and on, spoils games, repeats himself, and in general comes off as a know it all curmudgeon. It’s too bad. I just can’t take Beau anymore.
More Beau & Scot Less Jon
Jon is the biggest know-it-all I've ever listened to on a podcast. He also talks so goddamn much I have to skip a significant portion of the podcast so I don't have to listen to his pseudo-intellectual takes and constant self-righteousness about video games. My favorite episodes are the ones he misses so I hope we get more of those. This show would be five stars without Jon. Maybe it's spelled John but I didn't care enough to look. Also, if a Disney adult says you have good taste that isn't a good thing. Expedition 33 was made with AI and seems like it was written by a teenage art kid. Great writers write books, not video games.
Longtime Frogpants fan, but time to part ways
I’ve been listening to Scott’s podcasts since way back during the original Instance podcast. It’s time to part ways, though. First, Beau is painful to listen to. Overruns the other hosts, doesn’t even pay attention to what they’re talking about sometimes, gives spoilers during reviews, and doesn’t even know what he’s talking about half the time. Second, any feedback given to the show on other forums that isn’t “great show!” is met with disdain from the hosts. Now, that may be par for the course elsewhere, but there used to be a community feeling here, and unless you’re someone who types regularly live during the show or is constantly talking in the discord, no matter how long you’ve been around, the general feeling conveyed is “don’t like it, don’t listen.” Even if the feedback is rational and reasonable. Third, the weird perverted discussions have only gotten weirder. I’m not a prude or anything, but I listen for video game discussion, not jokes about male members and bodily fluids. So, okay then. I guess I won’t listen anymore. I do wish Scott and Co. continued success but there’s a limited amount of time in the week and now better things to listen to.

One of the few Frogpants Network shows I am not a fan of. Core is a shell of a show that was originally about Heroes of The Storm (hence the name Core), that has now become a show about “core gaming”… I understand that HotS is down for the count, but this show could use a reboot and a name change. Look elsewhere for your “core” gaming podcast. Do yourself a favor and listen to play retro instead.
