med student fave

Thank you both so much for making and keeping up this podcast! As a med student applying for obgyn, I’ve used this throughout my education, from endo repro courses to studying for the obgyn shelf and boards. I’ve listened to this on road trips across the country. I’m so happy I found it.

So one-sided and disappointing

To start, I’m a female OB provider who works with a large group of pro-life female OB providers. Listeners should be made aware of the unrepresented pro-life provider AND the patient seeking obstetrical care from someone who believes their child is a human being. People should know there is NOT consensus on abortion among clinicians despite how podcasts and “experts” like this try to make it seem. Know that there are pro-life doctors who care for baby and mom equally as human beings and patients. There are providers who would NEVER perform an induced abortion with the intent to unalive a fetus. Patients can find excellent, pro-life, evidenced based care tailored to each mom and baby (including MFMs, fertility specialists, etc). It just takes a quick google search to find us. There was no acknowledgement of the LACK of consensus among clinicians on the issue of abortion. There is not even a disclaimer for the TENS OF THOUSANDS of pro-life OBs across the US who believe fully that we are caring for TWO patients in any pregnancy. NO mention of any right to life or bodily autonomy for the person IN the womb. What about her body? What about her future? I’m not saying the hosts and experts don’t have reasons for their beliefs. But to not acknowledge the controversy within the medical community itself is irresponsible and shameful. You do not speak for the whole profession- not by a large margin

Started to listen as a 3 rd year medical student, and I’m still listening a few years into practice. The information was so helpful for my oral boards and general practice. Thanks!!
