Came here for Vanessa Richardson’s narration. I previously listened to her on Serial Killers, but the entire Serial Killers podcast (Parcast) was acquired by Spotify, and they took down the entire episode library. So it was disappointing that Vanessa simply does intro and brief transitions peppered with ad promos, but I liked the stories and wanted to give it a fair shot. The narration is not terrible, he really has a nice voice per se, but the constant theatrics and voice inflections make it difficult to take seriously. It feels like a SNL skit at times the way the most minor details are emphasized. Are they trying to sound like an old timey radio show, or just not like AI? I get it…but it’s too over the top. Please narrate in normal people speak without all the forced dramatics. A delivery with a toned down cadence would go a long way to making these episodes more enjoyable. I hope this feedback is constructive to better the podcast, because the writing and content really is interesting. I still wish they were narrated by the talented Vanessa Richardson, but that’s just personal bias.

This was my absolute favorite podcast I listened to 2x a day for daily crime updates! What happened? I’m so disappointed. Please please bring it back!

Why did this change from news stories that were happening now to rehashing old cases?

Is this the third or time this show has been reformatted? 🤔I’ve lost count! It was “okay” when Katie was the host, although she was annoying when she inserted her opinions during the telling of a crime. The BEST format was Vanessa’s twice a day format with actual updates on court cases happening almost in real time. The cure version is lazy slop!
