Life, love, and the art of writing in open conversation

Randye Kaye5.8.2022

I had the pleasure of talking with Bill yesterday, though our episode doesn’t air til October. Like chatting with an old friend about meaningful, vulnerable topics….writing of course, but also fear, vulnerability, storytelling, humanity, and taking that first step to get closer to the dream and see if it's a goal you really want to go for. These podcast episodes are all like that…two open, human, thoughtful, artistic ( and, yes, accomplished) people shooting the breeze about life, love and art - and we get to hear it. Highly recommended!

I listened to two conversations with authors whom I’ve read and enjoyed (Hank Phillippi Ryan and James Lee Burke, who goes by Jim). While I was interested to hear what the authors had to say, both conversations were very difficult to listen to. The host continually cut off and talked over the top of the authors when they were in the middle of expressing an idea. Jim Burke was gracious enough to apologize to the host even as the host was continually interrupting him. Clearly, the host has a lot of experience interviewing, judging by the number of podcast interviews listed here, so I'm sure he can do better. I would give it another chance or two, but these are really hard to stick with.
