Best podcast I have listened to / relate to
Was looking into a podcast that I could relate to/that talk about the problems that I have going on/have faced with this podcast being one of the few exceptional podcasts that I could really relate to from both of the podcasters and the guests conversations. I have never written a review for a podcast, and I came in as a new listener. Starting off with the oldest podcast and have been lured in and or hooked what’s how relatable they are to me and what I have faced. I am glad that this podcast is a thing and honestly will recommend it to anyone that is dealing with similar issues. Thank you, Megan and Patrick, for the work you guys do, and I hope the best for you and your families / colleagues
Thank you
My journey started with a “hmmm…what if?” thought, followed by a few uselessly indecipherable multiple choice free online tests, then hours upon hours chatting with AI, which suggested this podcast. Nothing has given me more profound relief than to hear people talk with care and vulnerability about what it feels like (different people, different experiences, similar processing) to be me. I’m not a complete waste of space—I’m just one of the ones with a different operating system! Thank you guys for being here.
Excellent Resource
As a therapist who is neurodivergent herself, I love this podcast both for myself and my clients. I love the energy and connection between Dr. Megan and Patrick. Great listen and great resource.
words & insights to understand neurodivergence
Marvelous! The two hosts, a well-spoken psychologist and an active therapist, relate personal struggles navigating a neurotypical world. I just started listing to ep. 138 (I’ve heard most previous as well) about relationship rupture and repair and wow! Such an honest expression of the vulnerability and shame we all experience as we navigate tumultuous waters of existence. This show uses actual experiences to describe and ~name~ the struggles we face. Naming & explaining them gives me language to identify what I’ve struggled with my entire life. It feels empowering. I’m gaining the ability to recognize and name them. Patrick frequently blasts apart my black and white view of men when he offers up (in a very vulnerable way) his struggles and experiences. I can’t even find the words to express how helpful and validating that is to me. Dr Neff is a master at reframing what we might feel is a personal ‘defect’ into a characteristic that is an understandable & acceptable part of a sensitive, caring individual- very neuroaffirming! Some episodes ramble on topics that don’t interest my ADHD brain, they’re easy to skip, but I usually don’t because the validation of autistic and ADHD traits soothes this VERY late diagnosed boomer brain. I am so very grateful to these two and this podcast for existing and sharing the way they do.
Wonderful Resource
I have obsessively listened to just about every single episode on my journey of self diagnosis & then professional diagnosis. I feel so seen & understood listening to this podcast knowing there are other’s who feel the way I do, explain it so well, & offer such helpful suggestions for how to navigate life. I look forward to new episodes every single Friday!
