So glad it’s over…
Not the show-that was great! But listening to these pretentious turds for one more minute is painful to even imagine. From two guys who have a terrible podcast not much room to critique an actual show that was extremely popular. Sorry if I offended all 4 listeners (probably their parents)! I only listened to one episode and tried a second one but it got even worse! Wish the duffers would have wrote these guys off in season 5!
Drops off hard in S4
These guys are normally enjoyable to listen to when they’re talking about other shows. I liked their breakdowns of Westworld, GOT, HOTD, Severance, and TLOU, but A. Ron’s verbal ticks have become unlistenable in Season 4 of Stranger Things. Constantly misnaming Hawkins (he says Hawking and Hawkings inexplicably), Eleven (often calls her Seven), Vecna (calls this character “the Vecna,” when no one on the show does). These unnecessary annoyances combined with the bad theory-crafting have made this unlistenable for me, which is surprising and disappointing. Maybe he’s always been this sloppy and I’m just now noticing, but I can’t deal with it anymore.
Really gonna miss this podcast!
Been listening to you guys since the game of thrones podcast, been how I fall asleep (and then wake up and relisten). You’re friends I’ll probably never meet but I love you guys!
Disappointing and these guys sound like morons
I had never heard this podcast before and I decided to randomly listen to their finale episode. Are these guys even fans of the show? They spent the entirety of the episode trashing the finale. I completely understand criticisms, but as someone who also noticed the flaws, there were definitely MAJOR parts of the finale that worked and I felt the story the Duffers intended to tell was wrapped up successfully. Between criticizing and making fun of Will’s gay coming out scene, to saying one of the main young actors “ages like milk”, and to criticizing the USE OF PRINCE’S MUSIC, I found this episode to be in extremely poor taste. The “Purple Rain” music moment may have been one of the best moments I’ve seen in television in recent memory and was very effective and moving. Don’t waste your time on this podcast, folks.
Where season 5!?
Update: Most culturally informed / D&D nerd ST podcast. They predicted Linda Hamilton as the 80s nostalgia casting choice on their pre- s5 episode in 2022!! Need their recaps for new season between volumes. hello?? Love these episodes from Steve and Anthony. True fans of ST and great movies/ pop cultural context providers. Looking forward to their rewatch of seasons 2-3. Season one on their original feed, Perfect Stranger Things so good.
