😩WHY!!!

I love this show! It’s the ONLY thing I wanna watch on Apple TV. I need this podcast for season 3. Just finished a 2nd round season 2 with this podcast. I learned so much as a creative myself. So very sad hearing the split with Goyer. Tragic. I see the difference in parts of season three have watched already. I finally find a reason to even watch stupid TV and I’m hurt once again. ☹️

Wanted to really love this show but…..

I love Sci-Fi and used to love reading Asimov. The parts I like about the show are some of the actors, like the ones who play Gaal, Salvar, Hugo and the Huntress. They are talented actors and do a great job. The actor who plays Seldon is a very skillful actor in other projects, but in Foundation his acting is inconsistently and sometimes awkward and cringe-worthy. I think it is in part because, he doesn’t believe what he is reciting and the writing is bad. He’s doing the best he can with the script he’s been given. I also like the production design, the special effects and the multi-dimensional, multiversal, outer space elements. But My G-d, the writing is painfully bad. The storyline is interesting conceptually, but it doesn’t have much depth and coherence. It seems the writers had good ideas, but they were not able to really create flow and depth and meaning with the story. And don’t let me get started with the 3 Empires, Dusk, Dawn, etc. These characters are so unlikeable. They are narcissists, patriarchs, and supremacists and frankly boring and offensive. In addition, they are not very good actors or maybe they are, but I don’t feel their heart and soul in their portrayal and maybe that’s because their characters have no heart or soul, or they are buried so deep, they have no access to them. Anyway, they remind me too much of the “divide and conquer “and “projection of fear” tactics in our present day world. Empire is collapsing, both in this show and in our world. I’ve seen actors play villains who do a fine job, like Joaquin Phoenix, Sean Penn, Jeffry Wright, Alan Rickman, Christoph Walz, Anthony Hopkins, all of whom are genius actors. I want to support this show, but I have stopped watching it, 1 episode into the 2nd season, because it is just painful to watch. Please get a new show runner and new writers in the room.

Financial and creative differences led to David S. Goyer to step down as show runner. Although he’s all over this season, and directed some episodes, I believe this podcast was victim to one of those financial disagreements. The Lorehounds, Bald Move’s Foundation and Podcast, Bingetown TV’s The Core, and At Star’s End are the only podcasts covering weekly. Go make your own.

Season 3 on TV is great… Not having the podcast is very much missed.

Where are you Season 3???

Ok, so I *should have* written this review during season 2; I apologize for doing crafting this so very late. I truly enjoyed and appreciated the second season’s podcasts. I think Foundation-the show, really came into its own during season 2 and I loved that you had Jason Concepcion as your host for each episodes breakdown and discussion. I hope you are able to bring him back.
