I tried…

This had great potential and went to the first episode of Partizan to check it out. After 50! minutes the players had talked less than 10 minutes and it was all monologuing “world building” by the GM. It was not actual play, it was not collaborative, it was story time with dense amounts of lore to try and internalize. I love a good world but this was ridiculous. I’m sure it’s for somebody (given their stated subscribers which I also heard about before a single scene played out), just definitely not me 🫠

Best in the Game

FatT is doing absolutely peerless actual play storytelling. They consistently deliver exactly what the intro promises - critical world building, smart characterization, and fun interaction between good friends.

No one’s doing it like them

Can a podcast change your life? Stories certainly can, and the stories these friends have told and continue to tell have fundamentally altered me. Five stars aren’t enough.

entertaining but also enlightening

I’ve been listening to Friends at the Table for many years and I just have to say I love the cast. Their different insights, knowledge, perspectives and openness to talking through those things (and leaving it in the recording too!) and collaborating to make really great characters and worlds and explorations that continue to fascinate and inspire me in not only how I would want to gear my own TTRPG experiences but also my own creative work in general.
