I Am Totally Charmed
My personal library is full of books of history. Many of those books are of Tudor history so I am very much enjoying this podcast. They complement many of the shows I watch on our local PBS station. Well done and many thanks for all your efforts.
Royal Palaces
Love this fascinating information!! Thank you. Great podcast. Wish I knew about it before I went to London!!!
love it
i’ve never listened to a podcast that gives you such a good sense of place. i love that there’s the little sounds of people walking through the castle - the steps, the opening of a door, the flipping of a book. the guests are great and the host(s) do/does a good job. overall a new favorite history podcast of mine. particularly fond of the six tudor queens series.
Future Episodes
Loved the series on the stolen crown and especially Arabella Stuart. Love hearing about the less talked about players in the Tudor-Stuart reigns. Would love to learn more about Eleanor Clifford and her daughter Margaret. Another idea could be the heirs overlooked that brought George I to the throne. Who were some of the Catholics in line besides James II son that were pushed aside for a non-English born Protestant ruler?
Elizabeth I
Thank you, Tracy for this 3-part podcast into the life of Elizabeth I from an atypical angle. She definitely was ahead of her times in many ways yet at the same time skilfully ‘playing ‘ the men around her. Yes to survive in a man’s world but also to succeed as she saw her role as monarch. You asked for topic suggestions. Are there any records of the lives and working conditions of the downstairs staff in the various palaces in HRP’s care? Such as the cook, various maids, gardener(s) etc. The monarchs wouldn’t survive without those folks and shedding light on them can be a wonderful insight into history.
