Good but political & Self-Serving
Josh and Craig-We get that you’re Hollywood liberals but you trash-talking the President of the United States is alienating more than half your audience. Be more like Office Ladies and knock it off. We aren’t here for your book or music promos, we are here for HIMYM rewatch only. Do better.
Comfort show turned comfort pod
I love the mix of behind the scenes info, comedy, and philosophy this pod pulls off. I find myself jotting down little notes and profound thoughts while listening. I love having Craig, Josh, and Alec in my ear as I go about my day.
I hope they finish this!!
A lot of these rewatch shows don’t finish the entire series I hope they get through it and stay with the excitement they started with. Bringing in the actors is awesome. NPH asking to be back for another episode was awesome after sounding like he was going back to an old school he didn’t like at first lol. Loved the episodes with the writers and all the perspectives of how they see the show now. I love that Josh is confronting a lot of things he went though while filming the show and seeing the experience of the show through everyone else’s eyes. It’s giving him a lot of joy & a refreshed outlook. I know this ain’t an easy thing to do and there are a ton of negative Nancy’s out there but guys thank you for doing this and please stay with it. Just do it with joy & excitement and finish it please!! Many other podcast like this call it quits. Finish this please!!
Shows great. Alek’s dad is dead.
You’re gonna hear that a lot. The producer literally pops in and constantly talks about his dead dad. Seems like his entire personality is a person grieving and it gets exhausting. Adds nothing to the show.
They keep interrupting each other.
I love How I Met Your Mother. So, so much. And I really was excited to tune in to this podcast to get more insight on the show, the themes behind it, and fun background stories. Unfortunately, the podcast has become barely listenable. The two hosts keep interrupting each other that it’s barely a conversation anymore. Josh is a little bit more of a perpetrator of this, often not letting Craig finish his sentences. But this was on full display with their latest episode where they invited a writer, Gloria Calderón Kellett. Check the transcript - she BARELY could get a word in before Josh AND Craig would interrupt her or basically say all the things that we as listeners would have wanted to hear from her directly. It was so grating, it was infuriating. Beyond that, the podcast could do well to dial back its self-congratulatory nature. There will never be any shortage of fans who send in clips and messages about how the show changed their lives. And I understand that Josh and Craig tend to enjoying philosophizing and finding the beauty in the more innocuous and ordinary aspects of life. But the irony is that they’ve intentionally positioned themselves apart from other rewatch podcasts that give us a closer look into a show’s writing, producing, and filming to the point that they rob of us the very humanizing stories that HIMYM explored in the first place.
