In December 2014, Katja Faber received the news every parent fears most. Her son Alex, 23, had been killed. Chilling details emerged in the months that followed: her son’s killer had been his university friend Bennet – the son of an ultra-rich art dealer – who had brutally beaten Alex before murdering him. Not exciting

Joedermpodcast9/23/2025

it could have been done in one episode, there is no suspense, there is no surprises. There is a killing which happened because drugs were involved as no other motive was presented and the killer received a sentence, which was the appropriate based in the laws. It drags over 6 never-ending episodes without any suspense.

Kind of boring

I’m confused by the generally great reviews. Essentially this is a story about two drug addicts that get into a drug fueled fight and one of them is killed and the only reason it is even mildly interesting is because both of their parents have money. But put this same story into the awful parts of Philly and swap cocaine/ketamine for meth and this wouldn’t have interested anyone whatsoever. 75% of the podcast is about the very wealthy mother of the victim talking about how horrible it is (and yeah, it is) while simultaneously trying to make herself seem totally relatable and not wealthy at all compared to the OTHER family. Meanwhile still lives in Switzerland and sent her party-going generally do-nothing kid to the most expensive private schools in Europe. 🤷‍♀️

frustrating amount of fill

podcast anyone?3/19/2025

I suppose this is a formulaic format to get people to subscribe, but this could have been a single episode, 60 minute podcast. Lots f repetition and filler that in my opinion dilutes the brand. I will think twice before listening to wondery podcasts, which used to be solid.

Incredible!
