Whatever You Do, Don’t Tell the Hosts or Community They Project Expectations
The community and the hosts are not as low-key as advertised. After saying that perhaps some reviewers projected their expectations for a game into their reviews which probably sets them up for disappointment, I got dogpiled on for even suggesting that and accused of having beef with someone by a host. They are super sensitive to anything outside of their own narrative and are not interested in discourse or debate. And despite being gamers, there are so many factual errors like wrong dates, generalizations a plenty, and, this is being extremely nitpicky, mispronunciation even when presented with the correct phonetic Japanese pronunciations.
Sad state of affairs
Another variety show where they talk for 2 hours about the first hour of ten different games they played, never to revisit them again. Woof.
The two hours boys
"Yea so I played about two hours of it, how about you?" "I think Im about twice as far in as you" *proceeds to describe the exact same point in the game as the other guy* "Well shall we make sweeping generalizations for an hour about this before talking about persona again?" "Do I ever!" Repeat ad infinitum. Terrible show. I was told this was a pod where people actually play and finish the games before they talk about them but that seems to be exclusively in the past. This is exclusively an impressions show through and through. And gosh dang am I sick of people rambling on about their half baked opinions for longer than they even played the game.
The positivity we need
Besides giving funny and informative reviews these guys also are positive and not “haters” on the games they’re talking about. It refreshing to have good vibes coming through every week. And the end of episode 25 from season 8 has a message that everyone needs to listen to and reflect on.
Great gaming podcast!
