Is there a vet min candidate who could be a regular season innings eater but also be a playoff body — even if it’s just for one game (à la Lonnie Walker in 22-23)

In the latest episode with Pete, Anthony asks “what if Kessler gets played off the floor in the playoffs?” But if the Lakers play Denver, San Antonio, and Minnesota, are those teams taking Jokic, Wemby and Gobert off the floor to play small ball? Absolutely not. The only real issue will be Oklahoma City playing 5-out with Holmgren. It will be the luck of the draw in the playoffs. Rock, paper, scissors, as Pete always says. There is no way on earth the Knicks beat any other team in the West this year. And the only reason they weren’t down 3-1 in the series was the horrendous play of Fox and a few terrible plays by Wemby at the end of the game.

Anthony—the summer league team is HORRIBLE! Plays no defense, has no structure on offense. It’s like watching bad AAU ball. Adou is being woefully mishandled, consistently driving into traffic with no body control. Suder not an NBA-level player. Carr was the only bright spot last night. It’s embarrassing. On the bright side, like the Ayton trade to get some draft capital and save some money. Thoughts? P.S. Show continues to be great.

Hi Anthony, as always thanks for everything. Sorry for the long question but here we go. I’m kind of surprised how different your’ vs LFR’s reaction to the moves are. What gives me pause with their reaction is, they describe how these move COULD work. If we are promised a championship contender the moves should be described in a framing of how they WILL work, there shouldn’t be qualifiers. On the LeBron front. It’s not that he left, it’s how he left that bugs me. We know he was taken for granted. We will find out but he claims he’s willing to take a huge cut to play for a contender. The lakers should have had a plan and treated him in a way that would have made him say, it’s a no brainer for me to take a cut and stay here. What does this signal to Luka and any future star? To me, it’s not a positive message. Thanks as always.

Crashing out over the FA moves. Sold the farm to pay Kessler top dollar. He, Grimes, and Mamu all got player options. Someone needs to tell Rob he’s negotiating on the other side of the table. Reeks of desperation. Now if he gets fired they’re much less attractive because all the picks & flexibility are gone.
