Barry’s pod is the best!

PSD NJ3/15/2026

I first heard Barry Ritholtz as a guest on Liz Ann Sonders’s equally great podcast (Schwab). I found their discussion so interesting I listed five times. Then, to my delight, I found that Barry had his own podcast (Bloomberg). He’s a sharp interviewer, asking questions to get guests to talk freely. He also seems like an all around positive and enthusiastic guy you wouldn’t mind having as a neighbor to chat about markets, economics, cars, or coffee with. Some of my favorite interviews are: Bob Moser, Richard Thaler, Hilary Allen, and Corey Doctorow. All worth listening to… I like that the show has not just market heads,, but successful people from various business backgrounds. Plenty of women guests as well. Also, right down the middle politically, which is refreshing. He also doesn’t allow (for the most part) guests to promote their own business. Great author too! How Not to Invest in Business is a fun and enlightening read.

Bad host

Barry Ritholtz is annoying always interrupting the guest and pretends that he knows more than the guest. Don’t keep cutting people off with meaningless phrases. Be humble and listen.

The best finance podcast

Best finance podcast1/23/2026

First off, Barry knows how to interview his guests. Great questions create engaging and informative conversations. The guests are diverse and there is so much to learn not only about finance but about career paths, success, failure and even book recommendations. This is the long view so if you are looking for get rich quick tips, look elsewhere. A weekly dose of wisdom. Thank you Barry!

Went downhill

Used to be a weekly listen for me with good advice but it’s gone downhill. The sponsored content about watches is one thing but slipping watch promotions into almost every episodes ridiculous. If the content was better I might tolerate the excessive ads.
