Trevor Henderson's creatures come to life in "Mayfair Watcher's Society." The town of Mayfair is just like any other: tidy lawns and book clubs, bake sales and Sunday school. And just like any other town, Mayfair has a secret - one that everyone knows, but almost no one says: Along the bus routes and down silent wooded roads, behind the mill and at the dark end of parking lots, at the edge of the porch, just beyond the lamp light, things move in the shadows. But, Mayfair is a town like any other...

Incredible Story telling

I found the podcast because my favorite voice actors from The No Sleep Podcast were featured in their first few episodes. I love this so much. I enjoy listening while on my way to work or during my lunch break. It’s now in my top 5 favorite podcasts to listen too.

I Took A Star Away In Protest of The HORRIBLE new Theme Song

vurnt222/5/2026

The theme song for the first season of this podcast was fantastic. Use of various voices in a kind of audio collage was so original. The use of different adjectives and other effects on the voices was FANTASTIC . By way of contrast the theme song for season two is HORRENDOUS . it has NONE of the charm, and NONE of the dread produced by the first season’s theme song. So far I like the new episodes but I’m very disturbed by the aesthetic choice of taking a brilliant first season theme song and turning it into a droning incomprehensible mess. This would be a five star review, but I took a star away. I put a star back because I love this show. The 3rd Season is fascinating, even if the 3rd season theme is marginally better than the abysmal 2nd season theme.

Okay concepts, horrible execution.

The concepts for the episodes are usually pretty good, and I have a ton of respect for a lot of the writers from their outside work. However, the mixing and sound quality is always super iffy, and a lot of the plots rely on traumatic subject matter to convey “horror” in lieu of effective scares, and the show notes quite often neglect to give accurate trigger warnings. This show could be so good, but it falls short in a way that makes it incredibly difficult to listen to.
