Long-time Ehrman fan
I have been a fan of Dr. Ehrman for quite some time, reading many of the books he has authored. But just recently came upon the podcast and I just wanted to take a moment to thank him and Megan for what is proving to be another excellent source for a scholarly study of the bible and other assorted and sundry ancient texts. I also really enjoy the lessons about the history concerning the peoples and cultures in biblical times. Very fascinating! Please keep up the great work!
Love the content, miss the chat
While I’ve long loved the academic content of the show, there was a weird shift where Megan and Bart no longer had their short chat at the beginning. It was nice to hear what was going on with both of them, now it feels way more formal.
The art of throwing rocks at other glass houses
Your life followed the opposite trajectory of mine. I think a lot of the things you don’t appreciate about Evangelical Christians are the same things you participate in as a deconverted Evangelical Christian. The truth claims you have issue with are now vividly clear to you as you have cracked the code going a layer deeper. ‘Look it goes deeper!’ you cry as you declare the truth midway into the cave. Those Christians think they know the truth ‘but I know the truth’ you say laughing self deprecatingly. I hear you talk about wresting with these things, and you are making quite a bit of media on the issues you stand against. Unfortunately it seems settled for you, as the facts are in, send the paper! I would challenge you to keep wrestling in earnest. The outcome might not be as neat as the premises you have so far, but it is worth it.
Great Analysis
This podcast offers insightful views into scripture by one of the best in the field. Bart’s books are great, and this podcast holds to that same high standard. Highly recommend if you are interesting into the historicity of the Bible
Interesting
Thank you for this. I have been Christian all my life in various iterations. I am now studying A Course in Miracles. What you say works for me so far
