Great

Ignore the bad reviews. This is the best coverage of the LISK case. Josh is so knowledgeable and has put over a decade of research into this case. He truly cares about the victims and won’t stop until he gets as many answers as he can.

Frustrating narration

Rachelleo•6/10/2026

As usual with this podcaster and filmmaker, he is obsessed with his own work and brings up his old documentary too many times per episode. It’s nauseating.

Hypocrisy

Prospero88•6/8/2026

I like this podcast but when the panel host called for “prison justice” (with an ovation) it grossed me out. Prisons are not meant to be no accountability proxy murder machines. Calling for vigilante murder while opining about justice seems very hypocritical.

Crimecon

The breathless, gleeful demeanor of Julie Grant is so off putting even offensive. This is a seriously disturbing and sad case. Also not interested in Macedonia’s take on anything. It still enrages me that the killer’s wife and family benefited financially indirectly from the deaths of the women. Seems immoral at least to me.

Production is overdramatic and ridiculous

permanentdaylight•4/22/2026

I wanted to like this show as an overview of this case but it’s just not very good. To start, the production is ridiculously overdramatic and over the top - there’s loud pulsating “bad true crime show” music over the ENTIRE show, not just at suspenseful moments. It sounds so cheesy! The host says a lot that doesn’t mean very much - repeatedly telling us about how bad of a guy the killer is, how wild the crime is, how everyone was stumped, over and over. We know he’s a bad dude, he’s a serial killer! Show don’t tell! He also mentions his own show/documentary way too often despite the fact that it didn’t reveal anything about the case. It feels a bit self important. The other thing that sucks about this show is the ads. I don’t mind some ads on a free show but the quantity of ads in these episodes is absurd - each ad break is really long and there are a lot per episode. A good 25-30% of the run time of these episodes is ads and other non-story fluff. Insane.
