A squawk and a miss

The only high point is the production. The host is devoid of personality and he is not a good interviewer - letting the guest ramble on drags the show down. The premise is good though.

Love it

I just discovered it and I really love it. I am a home birder and I have friends who love birds, but I love the science and the fun of this particular podcast.

A great way to stay current on bird news

The range of topics and quality of the guests make for great listening. And I freaking love this guy. The way he ends every episode with “byyyEEeeEE” gets me every time

Scott Taylor hosts a perfect podcast. I’ve been listening to this bird podcast recently, and it’s become one of the best parts of my day. Each episode is only about 30 minutes, which makes it perfect for my morning and afternoon commute—it fits so naturally into that time without feeling like a commitment. What’s surprised me most is how much I’ve learned in such a short span. The host make birding feel approachable and engaging, whether you’re a beginner or someone who already enjoys being outdoors. But beyond just learning facts, the podcast has genuinely changed how I see the world around me. I find myself noticing birds everywhere now—in my yard, around my workplace, even at the bird feeder I used to barely pay attention to. It’s also deepened my appreciation for the environment as a whole. There’s something grounding about becoming more aware of the natural life happening all around you, and this podcast has really opened that door for me. If you’re looking for something easy to listen to, educational without being overwhelming, and genuinely enriching, this podcast is absolutely worth adding to your routine.
