Thorough reporting and nuanced analysis.

Thorough and thoughtful reporting and analysis on the aftermath of the conviction of Gypsy Rose. The societal response to Gypsy Rose is so similar to the response to Mary Bell, amplified in ways only possible in the age of the internet and social media. Javier and his team have done an excellent job!

The lack of empathy

I think you did a great job reporting on this case. As a health care worker who knows quite a bit on the topic of Munchausen by proxy, it breaks my heart. Murder or not, Gypsy was a victim of medical child abuse. Period. The murder, justified or not, does not erase that. If we are harassing and questioning the validity of a survivor, how do we expect others in a similar situation to come forward. The treatment she has received from the public is disgraceful. I don’t know how some people sleep at night.

Fair take on interesting stories!

Thank you Javier for bringing truth to light. Your recent series on Gypsy Rose was very fair and very well written. I’m glad someone with your knowledge and professionalism spoke out about the insane hate and bullying she and her family receive online. I hope it reaches the people who really need to hear it and changes their minds.

Gypsy

I found this podcast only recently so am limiting this review to the Gypsy Rose Obsession. As my introduction to Javier and his “journalism”, I am very disappointed. He seems to almost crush on Gypsy and is just as manipulated by her as others - it’s almost farcical. In asking her about her racist and offensive prison calls, he actually leads her with the question- “do you think you were mirroring them” - meaning, just reflecting back what she thought her prison callers wanted to hear…. Ummmm, YES, Javier- that’s called being manipulative and doing whatever it takes to win over the person from whom whom you want something - attention, money for the prison store, etc etc it all goes back to - Gypsy Rose, whatever the background story, has evolved into an absolute manipulate puppet master. She’s not a good human. Enough with any sympathy for her unless and until she actually heals herself. She’s just her mom 2.0. Duh 2 Javier! You’ve been so taken by her - most of the people on death row were subjected to serious abuse in their lifetimes. Our justice system does not find childhood abuse to be an “excuse” for committing murder - and so many people endure horrific abuses as kids and do NO HARM to others. You are being blinded by feeling badly for her childhood. She still plotted and executed a murder. You really need to do some self-examination. Let’s be real - Gypsy is a trained manipulator. Could you honestly say she wouldn’t do the same thing again if it benefited her? I couldn’t. Past is the best predictor of future. She’s not a safe member of society.

Pro-Gypsy Propaganda Disguised as Journalism

Clee433•10/13/2026

To present the is as objective journalism on the phenomenon surrounding Gypsy, while reliably defending her against, and countering any point made against her is so bizarre. I came into this podcast believing Gypsy was abused, and I still do believe that - but hearing this level of sycophantic reporting, illogical arguments, false equivalences, and overall dismissal of differing perspectives, has only served to convince me that Gypsy needs to be de-platformed and held more accountable for her decisions. If you stan Gypsy and want to hear someone beat down any argument against her innocence, you’ll love this. Anyone looking for objective reporting, I’d pass.
