Less good audio podcast since the switch to video

DanManMan11/7/2025

It pains me to give this less than 5 stars, because the content is worth that. Robservations is just not great as an audio podcast since the switch to a video format in early 2025. With the added visual component, we are absolutely missing out when listening to the audio podcast. Since it’s still offered as audio-only here, I have to rate it based on that. Comics are a visual medium, so talking about them can be difficult. Rob successfully did that for years as this started as an audio podcast. Showing the actual pictures when speaking about them is obviously a great benefit. So maybe the switch to video is smart and beneficial to most people.

Star Wars, nothing but Star Wars

Rob, another excellent Civics class on Star Wars. I remember you saying earlier this year about how Marvel insisted on getting Star Wars out a month before the movie came out. My ROBservation today is that I recall they also did the same for Empire Strikes Back, Marvel Super Special 16. Of course, this meant the comic spoiled the line.; Luke, I am your father. I understand that George Lucas wanted to sue Marvel because of this. Do you know any truth to this 44-year-old rumor or was this just a LIEfeld???

More petty than Richard! Good listen.

The comic book talk is great, however the pettiness and narcissism is unmatched! Always good for a laugh.

Con man

Odinson1199/29/2025

He just goes on and on about how great he is. He then tries to put down people that are even more successful. It’s obvious he has a cocaine problem. He also ripped off his fans with his Brigade crowdfunding.

X-Men Influence

Hey, Rob! Loved the episode. Took me way back when I first started collecting in grade school. I started around the Dark Phoenix era of X-Men and definitely saw those cultural influences across the board that you mentioned. I finally got to meet you at SDCC this year and I’m a relatively new listener to the show. I appreciate the insight and kind words at the end of the shows. Thank you! Looking forward to more.
