Mixed feelings - tiktok slang feels disrespectful to the victims
I have really mixed feelings about this podcast. I like how much details that Stephanie Soo gives and the cadence of her speech makes it feel like you’re gossiping with a friend instead of just hearing a script. As a disclaimer, I don’t believe that true crime will ever be ethical bc no matter how it’s framed, it’s always going to be profiting off the crime. I thought Rotten Mango was a little better about it but I noticed the uptick of the use of tiktok slang and censorship. If the Rotten Mango team ever reads this, please just use the words “suicide” and “murder” instead of “unalive” or “self exit”. I understand that lingo is always evolving but this slang came about by trying to bypass tiktok censorship - but in itself, I feel like has BECOME the censorship in everyday speech. To not be upfront about it feels very disrespectful. In one of the episodes, she even says the word “corn” instead of what it’s actually meaning. It makes the situation feel not as serious and again, disrespects the actual crime that took place and the victims.
Great hosts, great content
You can really tell how much time and effort goes into these cases. The host is speaks eloquently and with sensitivity to the victims while documenting in detail. Very well done.

I have always liked true crime idk why. Stephanie and her husband do a phenomenal job at explaining and executing these chilling stories.I also like how many there are. They are trying their best to keep us updated. Thank you for these!
Love the show
Love your show! I enjoy your clear communicate with all these interesting(crazy) cases. Only criticism would be…to change or take off the guy in your show who doesn’t seem interested or doesn’t really seem to know what’s going on? All I get from your “co-host” is “ohhh” “I c” “wow” “haha” the single words liners are killing me!
