Scamanda

One of my all time favorite podcast series. So well done. I’ve listened to it twice. Interviews are powerful. They take pains to not villainize people but present the facts. I wish more true crime stories followed their example.

Really enjoyed this podcast! Strongly recommend if you like listening to podcasts about scammers / fraudsters!

The story was intriguing enough that I was able to get through the episodes though the story telling was repetitive and the pacing was poorly done - sometimes too slow and sometimes jumping around with incomplete explanations. Like reading a poorly written book but interested to know the outcome. If the topic interests you may enjoy it.

A bit slow going

We get it. She faked cancer. Terrible. But halfway through episode 3 I’m no closer to answering ALL of the questions in my brain than I was in episode 1: Why did she do it? Did her husband know all along? Were they both charged and imprisoned? How on earth could she stay in the hospital so many times if she had nothing wrong with her? I’m just gonna research it because this podcast is dragging it out WAAAAAY too long (and sorry, but the actress reading Amanda’s blog entries is too over-the-top/annoying. Should’ve been someone more realistic for that part, like the voice they use for Amanda’s mother.)
