It's becoming increasingly unrelateable to me.
I've listened to this podcast since the beginning and have grown a parasocial relationship with both Mich and Zara. I listened to glass. I cried when Mich announced her pregnancy. I celebrated for both their huge milestones in business and in family life as well as felt sorrow for their losses. I enjoy how creative, savvy, intelligent, and nuanced a lot of their episodes showcase. Unfortunately, as of late 2/3 of the episodes of the week are slipping. Deep dive Mondays have now been more about parenting. Which is fine but it's not where my life is heading so I still listen but I think I'm going to have to start skipping them. Their celebrity stories of Thursdays are now so niche and I haven't always heard of who or what they're talking about. I've found the EHAS is now bringing up more relative popculture conversations such as the ice coffee in an interview debate. And I think that was a missed opportunity given that mich and Zara both run an actual business. Im currently enjoying dumb stuff Fridays the most. All in all I've loved these women since the beginning, but now I find myself looking elsewhere for relateable content. You now have two dedicated shows to parenthood in your mediahouse. Any chance child free millennial women can get of version of the room considering that birth rates are dropping and more and more women are opting out of child rearing? When I heard about the census I was overjoyed until I learned that it's going to be more geared to parents. You could literally do this for child free women! I'm so looking forward to the time capsule podcast! But at this point I need something that makes me feel like we're back to what I truly love about this show. Intelligent women discussing broad topics (such as 30 life lessons, Zara's latest rec, etc) that feel like I have my "friends" that I'm gossiping and chatting with weekly.
Michelle Moaning
Michelle moaning in agreement while Zara is talking is so insufferable I can’t listen to some episodes.
How original Taylor Hate
“Why does she talk about haters” for the last 2 years specifically she was attacked daily for being excited to get married. She was the single cat lady and now that she is happy some fake fans are losing it. NEVER has so much been made about 4 bonus songs! Ladies you would NEVER do this to a man! Taylor has 20 yrs in the business this isn’t damaging her legacy… get a grip!
The Listening Highlight(s) of My Week!
Seriously love these girls. I can’t wait for every single episode, and the takes are so *normal* that it’s like having a chat with your close friends. I actually laugh out loud while listening, and listen to random episodes out of their backlog when I need a mood boost. Love this pod!
Quality has dropped
I’ve been listening since 2024 and was immediately hooked. I loved the banter, the research, and the thoughtful commentary, and Shameless quickly became one of my favorite podcasts. However, since the episode structure changed, I feel like the overall quality and listening experience have dropped. I miss the two-episode-a-week format, not necessarily because I want more content, but because the episodes felt more intentional, cohesive, and well-edited. I also miss the old structure around ads and recommendations, which made the show feel more polished and easier to follow. Dumb Stuff Friday in particular rarely feels cohesive to me. The episodes often feel empty and, compared to what I used to get out of the podcast, don’t add much value. I understand the move toward being less edited and more conversational, but I think it has gone a little too far. There’s now a lot of breaking the fourth wall, like talking about the episode structure, commenting on how well or poorly they think they’re doing, acknowledging mispronunciations, tapping the mic, and other little production moments. Those things repeatedly pull me out of the conversation and make the episodes feel less polished. I still really enjoy the hosts and what originally made Shameless so good, which is why I’ve continued listening. I just miss how intentional, focused, and high-quality the show used to feel.
