Please slow down!

The information in this podcast is spectacular. It’s probably the best history I’ve heard in a podcast and the host is obviously incredibly smart and insightful. But it is very difficult to listen to his solo episodes. He speaks so quickly, and in such a monotone that I have to work very very hard to understand and take in what he’s saying. I just wish he would slow down.

The Man That Makes You Want to Know More

This is my favorite podcast yet. Listening to Gareth Russell is like gossiping with a dear friend. He has all the dirt on the past, delivering the news in away that will make you laugh so hard you spit out your drink at least once per conversation. You may sacrifice your dignity while listening to this, but you won’t regret it.

This podcast is GOLD!

I can’t believe I just found this, it’s my new obsession. New historical research presented in a fun lighthearted manner, Gareth Russell is funny, clever and a joy to listen to. Give it a listen.

Each episode is worth a listen

Look forward to each new episode as it is always reliably researched and well written. His off-handed quips on history are relatable and entertaining. Thank you for all the time and effort in producing such a quality podcast!

The Fall of the Russian Monarchy

I just finished listening to Gareth’s superb podcast about the Czar and his family. Just following the chaotic last few years of the Romanovs rule, the political infighting, an unpopular war, and even food shortages caused by severe climate had me sitting on the edge of my seat. Knowing the sad fate of the royal family I was nonetheless surprised that they were not aware of how dangerous the situation had become.
