Garbage

I wanted to learn more about Gorsuch. The main thing to know, according to the hosts, is that he’s principled, and that makes him bad.

More gripes on Gorsuch season from a long-time fan!

newgirlintown16/10/2026

I thought I was being nit-picky, but looking at the other reviews, I see I’m not in the minority in feeling that Season 11 isn’t up to par for Slow Burn, which has historically been thoroughly researched and compelling. My two biggest gripes are: 1) How can you justify not contacting Gorsuch for comment when that is the most basic rule of journalistic ethics? 2) Must you talk down to your listeners? Several times when discussing Gorsuch’s jurisprudence, the host (Susan?) said something to the effect of, “I know all this legal mumbo jumbo is boring, but bear with me, guys!”. I am not an attorney, but I do find legal philosophies interesting and certainly understand how impactful they are in the lives of everyday Americans. Please trust that your audience is sophisticated enough to follow these lines of discourse! And if the host doesn’t find these issues interesting, should she be hosting this podcast?

Season 11

I couldn’t make it through episode two. This is not a work of journalism.

New season

We're so hungry6/1/2026

I know other people have said this, but the new season (11) is so much worse than previous seasons. From slow burn I’ve come to expect well researched and thoughtful commentary. And this simply is not is. The Supreme Court being a “thorn in the Trump admins” side is a take that I think only people who watch OAN or news max would find credible. I couldn’t listen after that. I’ll just wait until next season to see if the ensitification continues.

Gorsuch season is baaaad

queuea5/28/2026

Very confused why the host of this season focused on the Supreme Court then talked about how boring it is and how little she knows about it? It shows! Saying the Supreme Court is a “thorn is trump’s side” is laughable given they rule in his favor 90% of the time and one of their decisions basically said he cannot commit crimes in office? Also claiming that Gorsuch is a non-partisan textulist is so naive to the point of being ridiculous. The host clearly has not read his opinions and does not have an understanding of judicial philosophy. Lastly, not even trying to contact Gorsuch to comment on/participate in this series is SO strange. Just a bad and uninformed series that does not live up to other seasons. Other seasons were incredible!!
