Girl, where is the comment section. I love you and we are best friends. My MIL is all the things. ALL THE THINGS. My husband is not as great as yours and has not seen the light. #DeathBy1KCuts

I wish this podcast was around when I had young kids

Janelle gets me and it sounds like young women are dealing with the same problems I faced 25 years ago with my mother in law. Janelle often points out that MILs who aren’t kind to their DILs shouldn’t be surprised when they find themselves without the access they expected. I’ve been married for 30 years and my in laws have never been kind to me. Now they’re 92 and have always, and continue to expect the family, now 25 of us, to revolve around them, cater to them, and tolerate endless mistreatment. As well as give them physical care - they expect us to change their Depends and say we “owe” them. They’ve been playing the age card since they turned 60. My point is that if you have problems with your husband’s parents when you are in the early days, you may feel the way I do, that I wish I put less energy into trying to make it work and recognized their limitations earlier, and had moved them to an outer orbit of our lives sooner. My husband and I make it our mission to be blessings to our future DIL and our SIL. Thank-you Janelle, love the podcast and TikTok.
