The Affair…with Anna Williamson

I would appreciate this podcast a lot more if the host didn’t repeat every word back to the guest. That’s ok for therapy but not for a guest trying to tell a story.

Really wanted to like this podcast, as I feel that there can be so much to be learned about human behaviors, morality, and relationships, but I couldn’t get around the host’s interviewing style. As a listener, there were too many interruptions, too much asking for permission to share pertinent information (“if you don’t mind me asking…”), and not enough permission given to the guest to explore their thought process in the moment. It felt like the interviewer just wasn’t comfortable with silence, and felt the need to fill every gap of it up. This is a very unique podcast concept but I’m turned off as a listener because thoughtful questions just aren’t being asked or not enough exploration is given to the guest.
