The Bible Dept.

Just found this and listened to my first episode while preparing to teach a lesson on Joshua and I’m hooked now, so much good context and he does an amazing job pointing out important details in scripture!

I enjoy listening to these episodes. My goal is to start a streak and maintain it because every single time I listen, I walk away with knowledge that I have never heard before. That is so satisfying and refreshing for someone who is considered a “pew baby.” Sometimes as pew babies, we feel like we’ve heard all the big major stories in the Bible, but listening to this show lets me know that I don’t know half of what I think I know. I love gaining new knowledge from the Bible, as I truly believe it is a living sword! Thank you for your dedication to give us 365 episodes. May the God of Israel bless everyone involved to 1000 generations.

I absolutely love the way Dr. Manny explains the nerdy nuggets, context clues, and timeless truths. I think it’s easy to study the Bible, analyze it, and make it just a head knowledge, but the timeless truths that Dr. Manny points out of each reading really makes each day so personal and applicable to daily life. It keeps it from becoming strictly a study and makes it into a heart change too—which what the Bible is supposed to do. I’m so thankful for this podcast!!

This podcast has been indescribably helpful and so instrumental in my understanding of the Bible and my newfound love of God’s word. Reading the Bible used to be so intimidating for me. But I’m happy to say I’ve now read the Bible cover to cover thanks to this reading plan. A million thank yous to Dr. Manny and the Bible Dept team for their obedience and perseverance on this project. The context clues and nerdy nuggets opened up the world of the Bible to me on a new level. I was able to understand the context in which certain passages were written, understand so many characters, their flaws and what God was teaching us about both Him and our nature through the podcast. I could not have spent my 2025 doing anything better than this! ❤️

Really enjoy the nerdy nuggets, timeless truths and context clues that Dr. Manny shares. This is such a great way to stay consistent to read the word daily. I want to be a Bible nerd 🤓
