The Book Club Review

I been a listener for at least two years. And through these two years, I have observed that Kate is more interested in the pay to play model than actual podcasting. She fancies herself a media company. Although she is not nearly as consistent and reliable as a media company is to their audience – – subscribers or not The most frustrating thing about this show is how Kate brings on guest and then spends the majority of the time pontificating. She can’t pass up a comment, dissertation, or just major flex on behalf of herself. I have listened to her, hopefully unknowingly belittle the opinion of certain guests. Such an odd combination of someone who is self-effacing and full of themselves at the same time. It is appreciated that Kate continues to bring in and gatekeep new voices and outside clips of audiobook readers However, no matter how she rearranges her need for control, pick-me behavior and overall dominance the show remains the same Share the mic or drop it. I certainly wouldn’t pay to further experience these behaviors or witness them.

My favorite book podcast!

I listen to this podcast while driving. Of course I miss some since my first priority is the road. I keep hearing negative remarks man out Americans. Like it's less exotic When the Americans enjoy a book, etc. should I remove myself from this automatic download. I do not want to listen to a podcast about wonderful books and hear about Americans lack of i intelligence and culture.

I am a bookworm and follow many many book related podcasts and this is my absolute favorite. They give great book recommendations and reviews but in an easy but intelligent and knowledgeable way. It’s fun but also well done and informed. I wish they put out more episodes more frequently. I also wish they would go into non Anglo literature much more often.

Thank you for bringing this book up in your movie adaptation episode. I love that book so much. I have my copy away, and realized how much I miss it in my bookshelf. I ordered a copy this week.
