One again the Dispatch is delusional.

Lost interest

With the addition of Williamson and Warren the lineup is now just single note. Maybe try it again after the Trump presidency. There should be a Isgur/Goldberg podcast as they are the only ones that have interesting positions.

Trump is always wrong

I did not vote for Trump in any of the primaries, but I also recognize when he, or any president, does something right. The dispatch is a full on anti-Trump Lincoln project type movement where there is no nuance, just hate for Trump. Intellectually lazy and boring. Get rid of David French and you might earn one star back. Maybe even two…

Need a weekly hour long podcast.

I would like a weekly podcast from the Dispatch. I think a well scripted review of the week would be more useful. The content is great, but often dissociating.

The Dispatch Has Lost Its Way

I was one of the earliest subscribers to The Dispatch’s morning newsletter. As a fellow anti-Trumper, I appreciated their center-right, principled perspective on politics and the world. However and over time, they seemed to have lost the plot as they have often been unwilling to give Trump credit when he deserves it. And, many at The Dispatch have lost what Trump rarely exhibits, which is a generosity of spirit. I unsubscribed from the daily newsletter sometime in 2025 but continued to listen to The Dispatch Podcast. On their 28 April podcast, Kevin Williamson could not simply disagree with something Erik Erickson said and wrote about the Left and violence, but made him the “loser of the day.” Many folks with The Dispatch should take queues from Matthew Continetti, Abe Greenwald, and Sarah Isgur Flores (one of their own), and Rich Lowry regarding how to be principled but generous in spirit.
