I’ve been listening to several QCode shows and this is the first I’ve taken the time to write a review. It’s so riveting and really has me wanting more. I’m currently on the second to last episode. Love this story and how it’s done. So good.

Immersive

The Edge of Sleep was very immersive and imaginative. Would have been a full 5 stars if season 1 didn’t end on a cliff hanger with no season 2 following. I’m not sure if it was really worth listening to when the ending was a dead end though.

Fast paced and Eerie

The Edge of Sleep kicks off with one of the most gripping premises I’ve heard in audio fiction: a night watchman finishes his shift only to discover that anyone who fell asleep the night before has mysteriously died. The storytelling is fast-paced, eerie, and backed by high production quality, with a standout performance from Markiplier (yes, that Markiplier) leading a solid voice cast. The sound design is immersive, and the atmosphere balances suspense, sci-fi, and horror in a way that keeps you hooked from episode to episode. The pacing and writing are strong, though sometimes the dialogue veers a bit too much into exposition. Still, the mystery unfolding episode by episode keeps the tension high, and the stakes only grow more intense. It’s one of those binge-worthy listens that makes you keep saying, “Just one more episode…” That said—here comes the disappointment—it’s been nearly two years since the first season wrapped, and fans are still waiting for Season 2. While there have been whispers of its development, the silence has been frustrating. For a story that ends on such a big cliffhanger, the long delay without much communication leaves a bit of a sour aftertaste. Here’s hoping it eventually wakes back up.

Don’t listen at night. You won’t sleep because you will be scared of death. Other than that 10/10 pod amazing!
