Amazing story!
First off, Lydia your voice is so calming and peaceful. I admire your courage and determination and your story really hit me with all of the feels. Thank you for showing how you can move forward in the darkness and being a light for not only your children but the world. ❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏
His name is Jason
The lady keeps calling her ex-husband “my children’s father” over and over. It sounds so stupid. Just use his name. I can’t even finish the first episode.
So unlikable
I feel terrible, but Lydia is such a foul-mouthed, egomaniac he-woman it distracts from the story.
Not sure how I feel...
Lydia clearly loves her children very much and I know she's doing the absolute very best she can, which is all any of us could hope for. I also feel sad that so much of this story is about her pain and her perception of the stigma of childhood sexual abuse. The way this is presented and how she talks about wanting to shoot herself every single day with her apparently accessible firearms makes it sounds like being a sexual abuse victim is the worst thing that can happen to a child and parent. Obviously it's deeply traumatizing and life changing in a million ways. It alters something inside you forever. But acting like it's the worst thing that can ever happen to your child is exactly the stigma she's saying she's fighting against. Maybe other people feel differently but all I wanted was to know I wasn't bad or broken in some irreparable way. Watching a parent spiral is awful and children usually experience that as their fault.
Well done
I drive weekends from Massachusetts to Maine in this podcast was great. Fascinating story. Well done.
