I have listened to several of your episodes and only regret not following more regularly. Every time I listen, I am inspired by your experience and expertise, and reminded of my own desire and passion to guide my child rather than leaving it up to the social structure of school. Keep up the awesome work!

Hi! I came upon your podcast recently, after stumbling across your instagram. We live in the Midwest (of the U.S.) and have been practicing Aware Parenting (on an island, as there is not an AwP community here), and with that, there is a slowly growing inclination to unschool. We have twin toddlers, are first time parents, and are in our late 30s and 40s. Listening to the first few of your episodes has not only moved me to tears, but it has inspired me to embrace the path less traveled. Without having even started our “schooling” journey, I already feel supported by listening to your family’s story. And the beauty is that I am already learning from all of you, your stories, and your life journey. Thank you.

I love this podcast! It has a much broader application to living in general than just “unschooling”. His level-headed, person-affirming, research based approach to parenting and life in general has helped me well beyond school matters. I have been able to apply these principles to other relationships and situations. It’s not an exaggeration to say what Izzy shares has helped me be a better mom and person all around.

I loved listening to your episode about Florence trying school. I was so proud of her for standing up to those boys, but as a parent, completely felt your pain! What a strong brave girl. I love that she stuck it out, made friends and chatted with everyone at school, including older staff members. It reminded me of my daughter and how she would react if she went to school. Thank you for sharing and I’m glad she’s back at home with her family!!
