The Magnificent Others with Billy Corgan

I loved Gish. Saw “his band” about ten times in the 90s. I’ve listened to nearly every episode and got to say he has some bizarre guests. Every single interview he makes it about himself and his own stories. I’ve heard him say “I already know the answer but I’m going to ask this anyway … what I’m trying to get at is … does that make sense?” in like five different interviews. His questions are awful and guests get really confused.

I just discovered this podcast, particularly the interview with Michael sweet and I’m now a huge fan. I was never a big smashing pumpkin fan, but I so respect the way that Billy interviews these guests with such incredible humility and curiosity. He asks great questions and peppers in his own experiences at just the right times to keep the conversation flowing. Now I feel like I need to go back and give the Smashing Pumpkins Another shot. Thank you for this podcast, Billy!

I’ve been a metalhead my entire life, and have enjoyed the smashing pumpkins since the mid-90s. Now at 46, getting to hear Billy Corgan interview all of these folks and knowing the experience he has had in meeting Jesus, is super exciting and I cannot wait to tear into the older episodes as well!

Hey Billy, Thanks for having Michael Sweet on your podcast. This is the first time I’ve listened to an entire episode. I really didn’t know anything about him except for hearing some songs and seeing album covers in Christian bookstores as a kid. I also didn’t realize what a great interviewer you are. You’re gifted. I absolutely loved hearing two men who profess Jesus boldly with kindness discussing your lives & stories authentically. More guests in this lane please. God bless you!

Possibly my favorite…I’ve been binging a lot because I wasn’t even aware of this podcast until very recently, I enjoyed every single, solitary moment of this interview. I dove in to research this fascinating music man with so many great stories to tell, only to read that he had passed. So sorry to hear.
