The Mushroom Trial: Say Grace

Please slow down when speaking, it sounds like you’re sped up. I listen to it at .75 speed and it’s still too fast. I’m starting to skip this pod bc the speed of talking makes me quite stressed!

This series is by far the best of the several I’ve sampled. It’s in-depth, substantive and detailed, with good reenactments of courtroom testimony. The hosts explain the testimony well. My one tiny critique are the verbal tics of “sort of” and "mm" in every other sentence, maybe an Aussie or a journalist thing, but these are crutches the presenters should work to eliminate as it distracts listeners from the excellent content.

I wish the cohost wouldn’t always make the “mmm” sound after the other finishes a sentence. So annoying.

This podcast provides comprehensive overviews of the daily trial along with voice actors providing spoken testimony. My only critique is that the two speakers will refer to professionals as “female doctor” and “female paramedic” which is unnecessary. A gender identifier is not extended to male professionals.

One of the hosts constantly interrupts the other one while she speaks. It makes it hard to listen to.
