Has Value
Would have given an extra half-star maybe if that were an option. There are many problems in the therapy world, its structures and assumptions, problems I won’t get into here, for certain reasons…. However, although I listened to all of Season 1 and it left me with a vague feeling of dissatisfaction—ok, there are these structural limitations from therapy world; but is this just an unlikeliest group of people, or am I just showing up here as the audience in a limited way, right— But I decided to re-listen to Season 1 and as I go through it, although I don’t think it’s the perfect product; but it a container of value. It’s a product, but work went into it, yeah. I don’t know how else to explain it. Just like the system doesn’t know certain things: I also don’t know certain things.
So helpful!
I am so grateful for this podcast. I am in a classic anxious (me)/avoidant marriage and we are working hard towards becoming secure. Season 3 especially resonated as I was in or close to burn out. Julie is so skilled and kind. One of the most helpful parts of the pod is hearing her give example language for the couple to understand and express themselves. This language was not modeled for most of us, so I love hearing and incorporating it. Thank you Julie!
Eye-Opening and Supportive
This podcast really opened up my eyes to how I can show up differently in romantic relationships. I started listening to it when I was trying to save my last relationship, and immediately saw my own patterns and my partner’s patterns. If you want to find new ways to connect deeply with your partner, listen to all seasons of this podcast from start to finish. You will likely see yourself in one of the couples. For bonus work, read Julie’s book, Secure Love.
Just what I needed
I have felt lost for a while and Julie’s podcast has really been helping me sort out things that have been difficult for me for decades. I encourage anyone who may listen to this podcast to listen without comparing every little detail in their own life. The questions being asked and the strategies being implemented are really what I take away from it. Of course I am not exactly Melissa, but I have learned so much about myself by just letting things hit me when they are similar. If you feel anything while you listen, I invite you to the some time to explore what it was that affected you in that moment. Did you relate to something that was said? Or maybe a general theme sounded familiar? I recently entered a relationship that I never thought possible for me and I owe a lot of that possibility to this podcast. Thank you, Julie, you have made a big difference in my life
Book and practice
I listened to the book and listening to a grade 5 is amazing
