Not what he used to be!

Used to love Marek, but his frequent guests, particularly Wyshynski, are unlistenable, he’s horrible. His last show is actually better without him.

Hughes Puck

Can’t disagree more with Greg’s assertion that the US Men’s Hockey Team is Toxic. Bad take.

Fighting!

Goon Squad Captain3/12/2026

The subject of fighting in the game came up last pod and I want to throw out my 2 cents. I am 56 yrs old so I grew up on the 70’s and 80’s Hockey that had lots of 3 hour games and lots of fights. Growing up in St Louis I invented new curse words for the likes of Al Secord and Willi Plett and I loved every second of it. That era had rivalries because of the physicality and yes the fights. Why did the NHL get after the 4 Nations tournament last year? The fights in the first Canada-USA game were definitely part of it. The NHL needs to stop apologizing for the physical nature of the game. They need to let it come back a bit and embrace it. Cheers and love the pod

The best

Best hockey pod out there. Thoughtful commentary and questions, great guests and marek vs wysh always is great. If you’re looking for the same energy as spittin chiclets this ain’t it but is a nice alternative with some hockey history thrown in as well

Audio Quality Issues

The audio is not always up to par. Specifically, guest interviews can sound like someone on their phone driving through a tunnel. It’s understandable to have phone interviews but need to clean up the sound mix or encourage guests to find a better location.
