The Slowdown: Poetry & Reflection Daily

This podcast is perhaps the only one I listen to that I never regret, and always enriches my day. I jump to it every morning. The slow poetry voice does really help me slow down, and I’ve learned so much about what good poetry(and good humanity) is. No pretentious or critical editorial bs, just using poetry for its base purpose: to humanize all of us.

I want to love this podcast as I appreciate the content and the host, however the pace of speech is so unnatural and scripted that it feels forced and difficult to engage with as a result. Talk to us like we’re sitting over a cup of coffee or tea together instead.

The host speaks excruciatingly slowly. It is patronizing to the listener of moderate cognitive capacity (such as myself) to expect them to speed up the podcast. Very disappointing.
