Tin can and string
I think there is some good stuff here…if their producer could get everyone better audio setups, especially in conference environments and for Scott. He often sounds as if he’s talking from one end of a metal tube. It’s exhausting to listen to, so often I just hit pause, and then end up never coming back…until the next interesting episode title, where, you guessed it, the audio for Scott is just the same…so I hit pause…and in this case, leave a rating and review. Production values matter!
Knowledgeable but got very political
Loved The Trade Guys and have always found them, for years, to be factual and present rational information. In the last episode they went on a rant about buying U.S. bourbon to stick it to the EU and Canada and mocking Canadians for not buying U.S. whiskey (like they can’t import from… the EU?). So you want it both ways - market access for the U.S. but also protectionism? Also referenced people “blowing up” Tesla dealerships which is absolutely dnon factual. Pretty telling they’re angry about that but not about public services being illegally gutted and laws broken. Do better.
The Return of Tariff Man
Great Podcast! If the USA is going to match other countries tariffs, should the tactic be to negotiate to cancel their tariffs? We have the buying power. Matching their tariffs will create more inflation around the world, doesn’t make any sense… I am in finance dealing with 25% tariffs since 2018, my USA small company pays these tariffs, we had to increase our product prices to stay in the market.

A thoughtful, concise and informative podcast. Count me in as a fan. The talks are timely and even a reasonably educated layman can understand the points Bill and Scott are making. A big plus: 30 or so minutes per podcast - very easy to digest!
