The Vanished Podcast

I have listened to and followed a ton of podcasts over the years, but this is the one I consistently look forward to. I’m not sure why there are so many bad reviews. I think Marissa does a great job! Yes, it’s true that she isn’t super animated, but she’s discussing very serious topics. I saw a complaint about how too many of the missing people were in the midst of a mental health or substance use crisis… well yeah… that really shouldn’t need an explanation, and their stories still need to be told. 💙 Thank you Marissa for all you do!

I’ve listened to this podcast for years, and sound had improved very little. I’m referring to Marissa’s narration, not the interviews which are harder to fix. It sounds like an unprofessional podcast, which will turn off some new listeners. No other podcast I’ve come across in 2026 sounds like it was made in 2010. I love the show, but it’s time to upgrade the audio equipment

I want to like this podcast but it’s very monotonous and hard to listen to. I think it’s wonderful to give family and friends a platform to discuss the case, but somehow this podcast makes even something as interesting as that into a slog. It’s basically people on rambling phone interviews and occasional snippets from a very monotone host. There’s so much potential for a good, in-depth podcast here.

The content is interesting but the AI voice is unlistenable.
