Love this podcast BUT

Nerdy Pete5/11/2026

And today, 5/11/26, There was a mention of Cesar Chavez starting a protest but no mention of how he had multiple women accuse him of sexual assault years later. It’s not history without the bad and the good. It feels like you’re trying to pretend Chavez never did anything bad. And here we are on 3/11/2026, the 15th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake (how the Japanese refer to it) and your pinch hitter host mentions only that the “Tohoku Quake” damaged a nuclear reactor. No mention of the tsunami or the number of dead. Meanwhile the main event mentioned was the birth of the reality TV show “COPS”. The host even goes on for a bit about how it basically invented reality TV. Such an important fact compared to the day a natural disaster nearly caused a Chernobyl type event and did kill almost 20,000 people. You guys make some odd choices over there. WOW. It’s January 6, 2026 and NO mention of the 5th anniversary of the January 6th insurrection?!? In a country that is sliding quickly into authoritarianism and dictatorship, we need *everybody* to keep telling the truth. Leaving out an event like the J6 insurrection is passively denying it happened. You talked about Emit Till, you talk about Juneteenth, the Birth of America, but you leave out when it was attacked from within. My previous and much less important review: I did not need a complete breakdown of the finale of the Sopranos. The people who care about this show already know how it ended so why did you need to spoil it for everyone else? Plus there has to be something more interesting that happened on this day than the last episode of the Sopranos.

January 6th

For there to be no mention of the fifth anniversary of the violent insurrection/attempted coup at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, is inexcusable. And it seems obvious that the administration has gotten to the history channel. Nothing is worse than rewriting history, or in this case, erasing it altogether. If this is now your MO you can no longer call yourself the history channel. Just another propaganda arm of an authoritarian government. I trust you will lose many listeners and viewers now including myself. I was an avid listener. But you have now broken my heart.

2 minutes?

Not impressed. History Daily is a *much* better alternative.

OBVIOUS Omission…?

Dean E.10/9/2025

Surprised there’s not even a mention of the Hamas attack on Israel. Regardless of personal opinions, it’s an event that happened and sparked a war still ongoing two years later. The whole world is still talking about it, yet the History Channel is silent. It’s hard not to notice such a major omission—Are we witnessing history being quietly rewritten? **UPDATE** I checked out their website and it’s listed there along with a lot more. I understand they may not be able to get everything in given the time frame they use but just wonder how they determine what gets included. I still enjoy listing to it each day. I’ve also updated my rating from 1 star to 4.

Really enjoy this

I enjoy this podcast and the length. Sometimes her cheery voice when saying “and 18,000 people died” is off putting
